A Poke in the Eye

This bug appeared in a news report published by The New Age on Jun 13, 2013. View the original news report.
Bug Type:  Other

Citing a report in the Huffington Post, South Africa’s New Age (TNA) reports that, “a strange new trend amongst kids in Japan has caused an outbreak of ‘pink eye.”

Look again TNA, Huffington Post has backed off its claim of any such trend and are now calling it a hoax. Now ain’t that a poke in the eye.

Supporting Information:

If you want a real eye-opener, take a look at "Lick This!" by Mark Schreiber and read how the tale of a fake fad made in Japan made its way into the pages of newspapers, magazines, and more all around the world.

That should read: "and is now calling it a hoax," not "and are now calling it a hoax."
