Bug Type:  Simple Factual Error

In an April 6 blog post, Media Matters for America takes aim at apparent holes in a Motley Fool article posted on the USA Today website, noting:

"The multimedia financial services company The Motley Fool criticized ethanol for allegedly relying on government subsidies -- despite the fact that subsidies for corn ethanol, which comprises the vast majority of ethanol used in the country, ended years ago."

I asked USA Today via email if it corrects errors in articles from its content partners, like The Motley Fool. It said, "Claims of error are reviewed and shared with content providers for vetting and a decision on whether to issue a correction or clarification."
